What Are You Afraid Of?

What are you afraid of doing? What are you afraid will stop you from doing what you want to do? Why have these fears entered your heart?

Take a moment and think about these questions and your answers to them.

Do you ever wonder what the origins of your fears are?

Maybe it was the voice of a loved one telling you that you couldn’t do something. Maybe it was not having the support and encouragement of your parents or guardians. Maybe it was being told that your dreams were unrealistic. Maybe you were told to get your head out of the clouds; to stop dreaming.

Maybe it was all of the above.

I say DREAM! Dream as hard as you can… dream with all of your might. Allow the voice within you that has been silenced, to scream. Allow that voice to guide you. Don’t allow reason or logic to scare you into a state of mental paralysis.

Ask yourself, “If not now, WHEN?”

When we are kids, we dreamed. We believed that one day, we could have it all.

Then sadly, we were told we could not.

We were told to be sensible and practical.

Well, sensible and practical are not the stuff of DREAMS.

I would like to share one of my very favorite quotes:

The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me? ~Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

The most unfortunate part of growing old is probably doing so with a heavy heart, weighed down with regret. I imagine the heartache of wishing the hands of time could be turned back… so that we’d have just ONE more chance to make our dreams come true. The even more unfortunate part is that WE were the ones that stood in the way of our dreams.

GET OUT OF YOUR WAY!

If not now, when?

You’re NEVER too old and it is NEVER too late. There is NO TIME like the present to reach for the stars… to MAKE your dreams come true.

I challenge you to DREAM the way you did when you were a child; forget about sensibility, BE impractical and defy all logic.

The question isn’t who is going to let you; it’s who is going to stop you?

Vanessa xoxo
