the dilemma.

There’s nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.  ~Walter Wellesley “Red” Smith

This is so true.  The only bad thing about writing on a blog, opposed to a journal, is that you aren’t always able to be completely honest, in fear that you may hurt or offend someone.  But at the same time, there is an element of knowing that people are reading your words, relating and understanding them that is comforting. I have become very fond of the feeling of the keys beneath my fingers.  I like the flow of typing my words… seeing them on the screen… leaving my footprint on the world wide web.

I struggle at times though.  Some of my most fluid writing comes during times of stress, depression, frustration, unhappiness, etc. It is difficult to filter the emotions that compel me to write.  When shit sounds bad here, it’s NC-17 in my journal! lol

I have so many journals.  The pages are filled with almost illegible handwriting and have been abandoned half way through.  Miraculously, the pages of the last two have been filled completely.

I guess I have been able to find a somewhat happy balance of posting on this blog and journaling my more inappropriate thoughts.

In the end… the act of writing… is really for me… so whether it’s in a journal, or on this blog is just a matter of writing-geography.  <3
